WHAT ARE PLANT-Based DIETS?
A Plant-Based Diet
Primarily recognized as an exclusively plant-based or vegan diet that excludes all animal products i.e. meat, fish, eggs, dairy, honey and other animal derived ingredients.
Consists of Legumes, Soy Foods, Whole Grains, Vegetables, Fruits, Nuts, Seeds and other vegan food products.
Other forms of plant-based diets
I typically extend this definition to include those eating MOSTLY plant-based i.e. 95% of foods from plant origin.
Vegetarians including some eggs or dairy
Flexi or Rare-atarian; those who rarely consume or consume minimal amounts of animal products.
